I bought a 5,000 square foot victorian mansion that was built in 1896. I noticed some water damage on the ceiling of the first floor. I believe it is coming from the bathroom on the second floor. The toilet had a leak and you can tell it is getting bad just by looking at it. The floor does not seem stable when you use the room in that area also. I know it is probably wood rot but will there be mold when I take that apart? If so how can I safely remove it?

Once I get that floor up I am sort of confused on how to go about replacing the floor. If there is no floor there I will fall through  Wink

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

If you have never stepped in to an old Victorian mansion, you wouldn't believe the ornate wainscoting on the lower portion of the walls.

As I did my research on old Victorian homes in developing this line, I was introduced to that lovely look and fell for it like a ton of bricks! Hence, our Victorian Wall panel was born.

When repeated side by side around the lower level of the wall, it creates much that same look. With two overlays, you create the outside box of the design in the first plastering, then go back and add that wonderful detail with the second. Now, paint the color of your wall for simple "elegance" or do as I did in the photo above and add just pale hints of color with a stencil brush and stencil cream.
